In light of Energy Efficiency Day on October 2, 2019, Congressman Paul Tonko, U.S. Representative, New York’s 20th Congressional District visited our KCE NY 1 storage facility in Saratoga County. We were extremely pleased to host Congressman Tonko and numerous individuals from the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) for a tour of the facility, providing them an up-close and detailed tour showing the immense benefits battery storage provides to the grid. The group was first given an introduction to Key Capture Energy and then were subsequently presented with a safety briefing. The tour kicked off with an exterior view of the substation interconnection point and ended with a guided a tour of the BESS yard, containers, and control house.

We were also glad to have our interns from University of Albany and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute present for the tour, as we believe it is critically important to support the expansion of New York’s clean energy workforce in order to fully achieve a clean energy economy.
