KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & PURPOSE OF POSITION:

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Director of Asset Management will be responsible for developing and then implementing KCE’s Asset Management Strategy. The Asset Management Strategy will include: (1) frameworks for compliance with ongoing obligations under project agreements applicable to KCE’s operating assets; (2) identification of appropriate metrics and benchmarks for evaluation of the Asset Management function; (3) references to industry best practices and KCE process improvements; and (4) a plan for hiring and training necessary staff to build the KCE Asset Management department. The Asset Management department will be responsible for comprehensive management of KCE’s operational energy storage assets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage and ensure KCE meets all obligations under credit, tax, off-take, interconnection, lease and other key project agreements (together, “project agreements”) both directly through the Asset Management team and through collaboration with other KCE teams.
• Lead all reporting and communications regarding Asset Management with KCE management and KCE’s investors and partners, including but not limited to reporting on compliance with project agreements, project revenues, and project performance.
• Coordinate initiatives across KCE departments and groups to maximize project revenues and project performance.
• Work with KCE Market Operations team on revenue reporting, revenue opportunities, and risk mitigation.
• Work with KCE compliance team to ensure that all KCE projects meet regulatory requirements.
• Hire, manage, and mentor team members as necessary to fulfill the KCE Asset Management Strategy.
• Participate in contract negotiations to ensure contractual obligations are in line with the Asset Management Strategy.
• Other responsibilities as determined necessary to implement the KCE Asset Management Strategy.
WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
• 6+ years of experience in Asset Management for renewable energy or storage assets, including 2 or more years of management experience.
• Experience with managing major project documents, including interconnection agreements, operating agreements, and off-take agreements.
• Experience with standard project financial metrics and analytical tools, including NPV, IRR and DCF. Familiarity with typical debt and tax equity financing structures.
• Knowledge of and experience with energy storage technologies is a plus.
• Expertise in and understanding of RTO market structures, regulations for transmission and generation, resource adequacy standards and capacity market standards
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, master’s in business administration or engineering related discipline preferred.
• Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and work well as part of the team.
