The purpose of this position is to focus on strategic operations and business development for battery storage in markets where KCE has battery storage projects in operation, construction or development, including ERCOT, NYISO and ISO-NE. Candidate will be responsible for integrating strategic operations protocols with other groups, identifying new opportunities in the ERCOT market, executing those opportunities, and putting ideas into practice.


  1. Identify and execute the best strategy for ERCOT/NYISO/ISO-NE operations (QSE/Scheduling functions/etc.) and be the main liaison for communications internally and externally
  2. Work with asset management team to assist in the new generator commissioning process
  3. Facilitate regular calls with power schedulers to discuss day-ahead optimization strategies and term bids/offers to capture revenue opportunity
  4. Train new operations personnel as KCE team grows
  5. Be the main contact for ISO, FERC and NERC compliance and audits
  6. Participate in ISO stakeholder processes to advocate for NPRRs or other rules that make sense to the battery industry and KCE. Attend stakeholder meetings to be aware of market changes
  7. Identify and pursue business opportunities including (but not limited to) partnering with renewable asset owners, TDSPs, and large commercial and industry interested in battery procurement
  8. Support commercial and business development


  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the wholesale electric power market with a preference for demonstrable success with renewable energy projects
  2. Broad background of energy marketing and structuring along with a strong knowledge of renewable energy project development and financing
  3. Deep knowledge of U.S. power markets (ERCOT experience preferred) and renewable energy project development 
  4. Problem solving, strong analytical and statistical skills and ability to convey complex technical analysis to a broader audience including senior leadership
  5. Proficient with Excel, VBA.
  6. NERC Certified Reliability Coordinator
  7. Ability to work effectively in small teams and groups
