POSITION PURPOSE:

Lead Key Capture Energy’s regulatory and energy policy advocacy strategies within NYISO and ISO-NE to determine how market rules, energy policies and political developments will impact the organization and the energy storage sector as a whole. Responsible for working cross-company to perform detailed market rules, energy policy analysis and play a crucial role in executing strategies to advance energy storage solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead and execute Key Capture Energy’s regulatory and energy policy advocacy strategies across the Northeast (NYISO, ISO-NE and PJM)
  2. Identify opportunities for energy storage in the broader wholesale market
  3. Assess how energy storage plays into the changing generation mix of the northeast
  4. Monitor NYISO and ISO-NE stakeholder processes that have an impact on storage wholesale market revenues
  5. Advocate for policy changes in statehouses
  6. Lead the development and implementation of policy positions and advocacy strategies
  7. Identify and work with stakeholders to advance common clean energy interests
  8. Participate in industry associations and policy organizations
  9. Prepare and deliver external interventions and filings in legislative and regulatory processes
  10. Other skills as needed

WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

  1. Knowledge of energy policy issues
  2. Demonstrated experience in project management and working on project teams
  3. Ability to identify and assess business opportunities and threats
  4. Excellent communication skills
  5. Direct experience preparing and delivering testimony to state legislatures, public utility commissions, and/or Independent System Operators
  6. Experience with stakeholder processes
  7. Very motivated self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills
