Working directly with the CCO of a fast-growing energy storage company, the Special Projects Analyst will provide Key Capture Energy with in-depth analyses of new market strategies to drive expansion of market share in the United States. With power markets in flux, KCE is opportunistically building and acquiring strategic positions within new business segments. The Special Projects Analyst would be focused on identifying these new business segments and evaluating go-to-market strategies with the goal of informing investment outcomes over the course of the semester.


  1. Research existing merchant wind/solar/coal/naturalgas facilities
  2. Identify most promising plants for partnerships within KCE’s geographic focus
  3. Identify and research ownership structure of target facilities, including performing background research on private equity or strategic owners
  4. Research and report on competition by mining regulatory, market, and other pertinent data and industry resources
  5. Present findings to internal stakeholders
  6. Other duties as required


  1. Current MBA student
  2. Competitive undergraduate education (quantitative fields preferred)
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Powerpoint, (Experience with Python / SQL is a plus)
  4. Prior work or academic experience in energy markets preferred
  5. Ability to understand, simplify, and communicate quantitative material
  6. Comfortable learning new software tools
  7. Very motivated self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills
