Today, Key Capture Energy received an energy storage incentive from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for our KCE NY 11 project. KCE NY 11 is a 20 megawatt battery storage project located in the Town of Montgomery, Orange County, New York.

We are pleased to have been selected for this award and applaud NYSERDA for again demonstrating the value of large-scale energy storage systems in the state; our KCE NY 1 project was the first project to be awarded under NYSERDA’s energy storage incentive program . KCE NY 11 will serve the state’s electrical system by enhancing power grid performance and reliability and will further New York State’s climate change initiative by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Alicia Barton, President and CEO, NYSERDA, said, “KCE NY 11 is a testament to how quickly storage is gaining momentum in New York State and beyond as we continue on our path toward achieving Governor Cuomo’s nation-leading energy storage target. I applaud Key Capture Energy for their commitment to fostering public private partnerships to create a thriving storage market that employs innovative technologies to provide New Yorkers with cleaner and greener renewable energy sources.”

We look forward to growing our project portfolio in New York State and accelerating the state’s ability to meet its commitment to a carbon-free electric system by 2040.
